Installer's take

The IDMAX 10 V4 is a large-motor, long-excursion driver that needs a correctly sized enclosure to perform correctly. ID publishes 0.75 cu ft for sealed, this box hits that number per chamber, for a total of 1.5 cu ft net across both drivers. Each chamber is fully isolated. The 1.5" double-layer baffle and threaded inserts aren't premium extras on a driver with 18+ Tm BL and 39mm Xmax. They're structural requirements. The terminal cup is pre-wired with 12g OFC to your selected impedance. Wire your amp leads to the terminal, mount the driver with the included 8/32 machine screws, done. No stripping wood screw holes on the first remount. Box is 28" × 13" × 12" external, ~38 lbs, Plush Black carpet. Fits comfortably in most mid-size to full-size trunk applications. The 12" depth is the dimension to check against your available install space. Worth noting for customers: the IDMAX 10 V4 in a correctly sized sealed box will behave differently than the same driver in an oversized generic enclosure, and that's the point. If a customer has been fighting their tune trying to compensate for the wrong box, this enclosure changes the picture.

Questions

Does this enclosure fit the IDMAX 10 V4 in both D2 and D4 configurations?

Yes. The enclosure is built for the IDMAX 10 V4 in both Dual 2-ohm (D2) and Dual 4-ohm (D4). The physical driver dimensions are identical between variants, 9.65" cutout, 11.06" OD, 7.68" mounting depth. Select your impedance at checkout based on your amplifier's stable load rating.

Why is the volume 0.75 cu ft per chamber instead of a larger number?

Because that's what Image Dynamics published as the recommended sealed volume for this driver. The IDMAX 10 V4 has a Qts of 0.44 (D4) to 0.50 (D2). Both in ideal sealed alignment territory. At 0.75 cu ft the system Q is controlled and transient response is fast. Too large raises system Q and slows the bass. Too small overloads the suspension. This enclosure is built to the number the driver was designed around.

What is the front panel thickness and why does it matter?

The front baffle is 1.5" thick: two layers of 3/4" Langboard Elite MDF bonded and CNC-cut as one unit. The IDMAX 10 V4 has a BL factor of 18.15 Tm and Xmax of 39mm. Under sustained 1000W operation, a single-layer baffle flexes and introduces distortion and mechanical stress on the driver's mounting hardware. The 1.5" double-layer eliminates that flex. Combined with threaded inserts and 8/32 machine screws, the driver stays precisely mounted at any output level.

What does pre-wired mean exactly?

The Proline X terminal cup comes pre-wired with 12-gauge OFC speaker wire run from the terminal to the driver mounting location inside the enclosure. When you install the IDMAX 10 and connect it to the internal leads, the wiring is complete. Connect your amplifier's speaker output to the terminal cup and the system is ready to run.

What makes the Professional Series different from other Proline X enclosure lines?

The Professional Series is built around individual drivers, not universal dimensions. Every build starts with the driver's published Thiele-Small parameters and works outward from there. The result is driver-specific airspace, a 1.5" double-layer baffle minimum, threaded inserts matched to the driver's bolt pattern, extensive internal bracing, and Plush Black carpet as the standard finish. Other Proline X lines are designed to fit a class of drivers. The Professional Series is designed for one driver.

Is shipping actually included or are there fees added at checkout?

Shipping is fully included. What you see is what you pay, no freight charges, no handling fees at checkout. The enclosure ships via UPS Ground at approximately 38 lbs.

Can I mount the IDMAX 10 V4 with standard wood screws?

The enclosure uses threaded inserts pressed into the baffle for a metal-to-metal connection, not wood screws into MDF. Wood screws in MDF lose torque under vibration and strip on remount. The threaded insert system maintains consistent clamping force across the driver's mounting flange regardless of how many times the driver is removed and reinstalled.

Does the enclosure come assembled and ready to install?

Yes. The enclosure arrives fully assembled, carpeted, and pre-wired. Install the IDMAX 10 V4 into the baffle opening using the 8/32 machine screws, connect the driver's voice coil leads to the internal wiring, and connect your amplifier to the terminal cup. The driver is not included and must be ordered separately.
