Installer's take

The dual 10" is the right choice when the single 10" does not produce enough output and vertical clearance rules out a taller enclosure. At 13.75" tall it matches the single 10" height exactly, the only thing that changes is width, depth, and driver count. Before ordering confirm the 38" width and 22.75" depth clear your install space. Width is often the constraint that eliminates the dual 10" from a build where the single 10" would have fit. The 31 Hz tuning is the same target as the single 10". Arrived at independently for two drivers in a shared enclosure. This is not a generic dual-10" ported spec. Generic dual-10" enclosures run 35–38 Hz. The L7X 10" T/S parameters point lower, and this enclosure goes there. The difference is audible in the 28–35 Hz range where two 10" motors working together have real output capability. The triple-layer baffle at 2.25" is the correct spec for two motors. Two L7X 10" assemblies cycling against a dual-layer front panel at high excursion will flex it over time. Three layers eliminates that. Same logic applies to the internal bracing, at 4.0 ft³ the panel spans are larger than the dual 8" and bracing placement matters proportionally more. Wiring: two terminal cups, one per driver. Plan your impedance configuration before selecting drivers. Two Single 2Ω in parallel gives you 1Ω. Two Single 4Ω in parallel gives you 2Ω. Two Single 2Ω in series gives you 4Ω. Confirm your amplifier is stable at the resulting load before ordering. At 80–90 lbs this ships UPS Ground. Shipping is included. Lead time is 2–4 business days from order.

Questions

Why is the dual 10" tuned to 31 Hz when most dual-10" ported boxes are tuned higher?

Because the Solo-X L7X 10" Thiele-Small parameters call for 31 Hz, for two drivers in a shared enclosure, just as they do for one. Generic dual-10" enclosures are tuned between 35 and 38 Hz to produce strong output numbers across a broad range of drivers. The Pro KIK 10D is tuned where the L7X 10"'s T/S parameters point: where low-end extension and output efficiency intersect correctly for this specific driver at this driver count. Running two L7X 10" drivers in a box tuned at 35–38 Hz produces a louder midband and less of the low-end extension two 10" motors working together are capable of producing.

Is this a shared-chamber enclosure or does each driver get its own chamber?

The Pro KIK 10D is a shared-chamber ported enclosure. Both Solo-X L7X 10" drivers load into a single tuned volume with a common port. The 4.0 ft³ net internal volume and 31 Hz tuning are calculated for two drivers operating together in that shared space. The port area at 61.25 square inches is sized for the combined displacement both drivers generate at sustained output.

How do I wire two Solo-X 10" drivers in this enclosure?

Wiring depends on the voice coil impedance of the drivers you are running and the impedance your amplifier is stable at. Two Single 2Ω drivers wired in parallel gives you a 1Ω final load. Two Single 4Ω drivers wired in parallel gives you 2Ω. Two Single 2Ω drivers wired in series gives you 4Ω. Confirm your amplifier's stable output impedance before selecting your driver configuration. Contact us with your amplifier model and we will confirm the correct wiring plan before you order.

Why choose the dual 10" over a single 12"?

The dual 10" and single 12" occupy similar output territory but approach it differently. The dual 10" delivers two drivers' combined cone area at 31 Hz tuning in a 13.75" tall enclosure. The single 12" delivers one larger driver at 31 Hz tuning in a 15" tall enclosure. If vertical clearance is the binding constraint in your install, the dual 10" is the lower-profile option with more combined cone area. If footprint is the constraint, the dual 10" is 38" wide vs. 32" for the single 12": the single 12" may fit where the dual 10" will not. Contact us with your available dimensions and we will help you choose the right configuration.

What amplifier do I need for this enclosure?

The Solo-X L7X 10" is rated for 500–1000W RMS per driver. Two drivers means 1000–2000W RMS total system input at full rated power depending on your wiring configuration. A high-current Class D monoblock stable at 1Ω or 2Ω with a damping factor above 200 is the correct amplifier category for this build. We carry amplifiers from Goldhorn, Prodigy, and other brands suited to this power range. Contact us with your wiring plan and budget for a specific recommendation.

What is the lead time and how does shipping work?

Lead time is 2–4 business days from order across all X Series enclosures. The Pro KIK 10D ships at approximately 80–90 lbs via UPS Ground to the lower 48 states. Shipping is included in the price. No freight line item at checkout. Inspect the packaging before signing for delivery and photograph any exterior damage before opening.

Can I use this enclosure with a different 10" subwoofer brand or model?

Not recommended. The square baffle cutouts are machined specifically to the L7X 10" platform geometry and will not accept standard round 10" drivers. Beyond the physical fitment issue, the internal volume and port tuning are derived from the Solo-X L7X 10" Thiele-Small parameters for two drivers running together. Running different drivers with different T/S parameters in this enclosure will produce results that deviate significantly from both drivers' optimal alignments. If you are running a different 10" driver, contact us with your specs and we will find the correct solution.

How do I confirm this will fit my vehicle before ordering?

External dimensions are 38" wide × 13.75" tall × 22.75" deep. Width is the primary constraint. 38" is wider than the single 10" and may not clear all trunk openings or cargo floors that the single 10" would fit. Measure at the narrowest point of your available install space and account for wheel well intrusion, trim, and any hardware in the install area. The 13.75" height matches the single 10". If that cleared your application, height is not a new concern. The 22.75" depth is the floor-to-back dimension. At 80–90 lbs, two people are recommended for positioning and securing. Contact us before ordering if you want help confirming fitment for a specific vehicle.
