Performance in this enclosure
01Is it a sealed driver?
Efficiency bandwidth product places the motor before anything else is decided.
02What the box does to it
0.60 cu ft against a 30.0 L Vas.
03The watts that reach Xmax (in this enclosure)
Travel scales with the square root of power, so there is one wattage that puts the cone exactly on 17.6 mm — and a bigger one once a subsonic filter stops it wasting travel below the passband.
| Param | Value | Unit | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fs | 31.00 / 32.00 | Hz | free-air resonance |
| Qts | 0.510 / 0.500 | D2 / D4 | |
| Vas | 30.00 / 29.00 | L | equivalent compliance |
| Sd | 346.3 | cm² | effective piston area |
| Xmax | 17.6 | mm | one-way linear travel, D2 coil. The D4 coil is rated 19 mm on the same cone; the smaller figure is plotted so the power shown is conservative for both. |
| Pe | 500 | W | continuous RMS |
| SPL | 84.0 | dB | 1 W / 1 m, derived from T/S |

Installer's take
0.60 cubic feet net per driver at Qtc 0.823 to 0.848 and F3 44.4 to 46.3 Hz anechoic, computed from Audiofrog's published Thiele-Small. That is their own recommended sealed volume.
This cabinet holds the same 0.60 cubic feet per driver as our wedge version of the same pair, so the two publish the same Qtc and the same F3. They are the same enclosure in two shapes. Pick the one that fits where the cabinet has to live.
Read the impedance section before you mount anything. The GB series does not bring its coils out to the terminals. Each driver carries an impedance selection switch, and the terminal cup wires the two positions in parallel, so the switch alone decides what the amplifier sees. Set both drivers to the HIGH position. A pair of D2 drivers at 4 ohms each presents 2 ohms; a pair of D4 drivers at 8 ohms each presents 4 ohms. Leaving both in the low position halves that again, to 0.5 ohms on a D2 pair, which almost no amplifier is stable into. Set both switches the same way and set them before you mount the drivers, because the switch faces the motor.
On floor clearance: at the standard 1.75 inch standoff the slot around each cone is 0.95 of the cone area. Every 10 inch down fire cabinet sits there, it is the driver diameter rather than the box, and taller feet raise it if your floor allows.
Measure the height. This cabinet is 9.06 inches tall in the down fire position, on a 30 by 15 inch footprint.
Questions
Will this enclosure fit both the GB10D2 and the GB10D4?
Yes. The two coil versions share a frame, a 9.2520 in cutout and the same 6.260 in mounting depth, so the cabinet fits either. They differ electrically and slightly in excursion, 17.6 mm one way on the D2 against 19 mm on the D4, but nothing about the enclosure changes.
Why 0.60 cubic feet net per driver?
That is Audiofrog's own recommended sealed volume for the GB10, 17 liters in their documentation, and theirs is a net figure exactly as ours is. It gives a system Qtc of 0.823 to 0.848, a moderately damped alignment rather than a textbook 0.707, which is the voicing Audiofrog designed the box recommendation around. Each chamber is 0.73 cu ft gross before the driver's 0.111 cu ft of basket displacement.
What amplifier power should I run, and what impedance?
The Audiofrog GB10 is rated 500 watts RMS each, so 1000 across the pair. Aim for roughly 700 to 1000 watts at whichever impedance you select.
How is this different from the wedge version?
Acoustically it is not. This cabinet holds the same 0.60 cubic feet per driver as our wedge version of the same pair, so the two publish the same Qtc and the same F3. They are the same enclosure in two shapes. Pick the one that fits where the cabinet has to live. The wedge tucks against a rear seat back and fires into the trunk; this one sits flat on the floor with the cones firing down, keeps a rectangular footprint you can stack against, and can be run front firing instead by leaving the feet off.
What are the feet for, and do I have to use them?
Feet ship with the cabinet, uninstalled on purpose. Mount them where your floor wants them for a down fire install, or leave them off and run it front firing. The orientation is yours to choose. The 1.75 inch standoff they give is what the floor clearance figures on this page assume.
What is the expected low-frequency extension?
Half power lands at 44.4 to 46.3 Hz anechoic, before any cabin gain. Qtc is 0.823 to 0.848. Firing into the floor tends to help in practice, because the sealed rolloff meets rising cabin gain below 60 Hz, but the published figure is the anechoic one. Audiofrog rates the GB10 itself down to 24 Hz.
Do I need to add polyfill or damping?
No. Polyfill is already installed in each chamber as a light wall lining and the quantity is chosen so it does not change the acoustic volume. Do not add more.
Are the drivers included?
No. This is an enclosure only. You receive the cabinet finished in plush black carpet, with threaded inserts at both driver positions, stainless machine screws, one side-mounted pre-wired terminal cup, the feet uninstalled and the polyfill lining already in place.
