Travel scales with the square root of power, so there is one wattage that puts the cone exactly on 15.0 mm — and a bigger one once a subsonic filter stops it wasting travel below the passband.

Installer's take
The Arc ARC Series 10 is one of Arc Audio's most versatile drivers. Not their flagship, that's the X2v2, and not their shallow-mount problem-solver, that's the A10, but the daily-driver workhorse that gets the job done cleanly and reliably in the largest number of real installs. If you're building a system where a single 10 is the right cone size (compact car, stealth trunk build, integration with a full-range front stage that doesn't need heavy midbass reinforcement), the ARC 10 is a strong pick. The 0.75 cubic foot volume in this box is the reason it works. Arc specifies 0.65 cubic feet as the minimum, 0.85 as the optimum, and 1.1 as the SPL-oriented volume. 0.75 sits between minimum and optimum, dialed toward the tighter, more musical side of the driver's range. You get transient response that keeps up with quality midbass, low-end extension that integrates cleanly, and a Qtc that lands where SQ-oriented builds want it. If you were chasing pure peak SPL, you'd push closer to 1.0 cubic feet. For a driver that's supposed to disappear into the music, 0.75 is right. The 8.25-inch cabinet depth is worth calling out. The ARC 10's 5.5-inch mounting depth means there's roughly 2.5 inches of internal clearance behind the magnet inside this cabinet. Enough for adequate magnet ventilation, not so much that airspace is wasted. Some generic 10-inch boxes run 10 inches deep or more, which starts pushing internal volume above 1.0 cubic foot even in a compact footprint. This cabinet is sized correctly for the driver, not oversized to hit a spec sheet. Wiring is straightforward. Dual 2-ohm gets you 1 ohm parallel or 4 ohms series. Dual 4-ohm gets you 2 ohms parallel or 8 ohms series. The 250-watt RMS rating means you don't need a massive amp, a clean 250 to 300 watt monoblock at your chosen impedance is the target. Arc's own XD Series or Mini Series in that range are the ideal match. Any quality monoblock stable at your load will also get you there. For a single 10 sealed build with an SQ-oriented lean, this is the box the ARC 10 was built for. -Scott
Questions
What size enclosure does the Arc Audio ARC Series 10 need?
The Arc Audio ARC Series 10 performs best in a sealed enclosure between 0.65 and 1.1 cubic feet, with 0.85 cubic feet as the published optimum. The Audio Intensity Performance Optimized Sealed 10 for Arc Audio ARC 10 delivers 0.75 cubic feet net internal volume. Dialed toward the SQ side of Arc Audio's specified range for tighter transient response and cleaner midbass integration.
What are the dimensions of the Performance Optimized Sealed 10 enclosure for the Arc Audio ARC 10?
The Performance Optimized Sealed 10 enclosure for the Arc Audio ARC 10 measures 20" wide x 14" tall x 8.25" deep externally. Net internal volume is 0.75 cubic feet, with a maximum mounting depth of 7.75 inches behind the baffle.
How much power can the Arc Audio ARC Series 10 handle?
The Arc Audio ARC Series 10 handles 250 watts RMS and 500 watts peak. For best results in the Performance Optimized Sealed 10 enclosure, pair the ARC 10 with a clean monoblock amplifier delivering 200 to 300 watts RMS at your chosen impedance. Arc Audio XD Series and Mini Series monoblocks in the 250 to 350 watt range are engineered specifically to pair with Arc Audio subwoofers.
What impedance options are available for the Arc Audio ARC Series 10?
The Arc Audio ARC Series 10 is available in two dual voice coil impedance configurations: Dual 2-ohm (D2) and Dual 4-ohm (D4). A Dual 2-ohm ARC 10 wired in parallel presents a 1-ohm load or wired in series presents 4 ohms. A Dual 4-ohm ARC 10 wired in parallel presents 2 ohms or wired in series presents 8 ohms.
What mounting depth does the Arc Audio ARC 10 need?
The Arc Audio ARC Series 10 requires 5.5 inches of mounting depth. The Performance Optimized Sealed 10 enclosure for the Arc Audio ARC 10 has an 8.25-inch external depth and a maximum mounting depth of 7.75 inches, leaving comfortable internal clearance behind the ARC 10's motor structure for adequate magnet ventilation.
What mounting hardware does the Performance Optimized Sealed 10 for Arc Audio ARC 10 include?
The Performance Optimized Sealed 10 for Arc Audio ARC 10 includes 8/32 threaded inserts pressed into the baffle backside and stainless steel mounting screws sized for the Arc Audio ARC 10. The enclosure also includes a Proline X ABS/carbon fiber composite terminal cup pre-wired with 12-gauge OFC and stainless steel input hardware.
What carpet and acrylic insert options are available on the Performance Optimized Sealed 10 for Arc Audio ARC 10?
Carpet and insert selections are cosmetic only and do not affect acoustic performance.
Where is the Performance Optimized Sealed 10 for Arc Audio ARC 10 manufactured?
The Performance Optimized Sealed 10 for Arc Audio ARC 10 is manufactured in Tullahoma, Tennessee, USA. Each enclosure is CNC-cut from Langboard Elite 3/4" MDF on ShopSabre routers and hand-assembled at Audio Intensity's Tennessee facility. Build time is 2 to 5 business days from order placement.
