Installer's take
I’ve dropped a pair of high-excursion 6.5s into this box for several hatchback builds, and the results consistently catch people off guard. Most guys expect 6.5s to sound like mid-bass drivers, but in this enclosure, they actually dig into the sub-40Hz range without losing that "snap" on the kick drums. The build quality is noticeably better than the "China boxes" you find elsewhere: the 3/4" MDF makes the box feel like a brick, which is exactly what you want to prevent resonance. It’s the easiest way to get real bass without losing your entire trunk.
Questions
What subwoofers are compatible with the P6D-P?
The P6D-P requires a cutout diameter of 5.97" and a maximum mounting depth of 7.75". Verify both dimensions against your driver's published specifications before ordering. The enclosure does not include subwoofers.
Is the P6D-P Version II or Version III?
The P6D-P is Version III only. There is no V2 version of this model. V3 is the current production standard, V-groove and dado joinery, 1.5" double baffle, in-house terminal cup, and pre-wired 12g OFC speaker wire.
What is the tuning frequency and why 40Hz?
The P6D-P is tuned at 40Hz. At this driver size in a dual configuration, 40Hz keeps both drivers protected under sustained power while still producing output in the range where most musical bass content lives. It is a slightly higher tune than the single P6-P to account for the dual driver load sharing the combined volume.
What is the net internal volume?
0.60 ft³ total: shared across both driver chambers. This falls within the recommended airspace range for most high-excursion 6.5" subwoofers. Verify your specific driver's recommended enclosure volume against this spec before purchasing.
What is the warranty on the P6D-P?
The P6D-P carries a 1-year limited warranty covering structural failure and manufacturing defects under normal use. It does not cover damage from misuse, improper installation, water exposure, or modifications to the enclosure.
Does the P6D-P come pre-assembled and pre-wired?
Yes. The P6D-P ships fully assembled and pre-wired with 12g OFC speaker wire. Connect your amplifier output directly to the terminal cup. No additional wiring or assembly required.
Will this fit in my vehicle?
External dimensions are 24" W x 8" H x 12" D. The 12" depth is the critical fitment dimension for most installs. Measure your cargo area before ordering. Particularly depth from the back seat to the rear of the cargo floor.
What finish options are available?
Both use the same Langboard Elite MDF and full V3 build spec.
