Installer's take
The M15D-S GUS is the highest-output enclosure in the Proline X Micro Series and the most structurally demanding build in the lineup. 3,000 watts RMS combined across two GUS-15 drivers, each operating at 25.89mm of Klippel-verified one-way Xmax, places sustained mechanical loads on the enclosure that no other build in this series approaches. The construction reflects that, 1-inch external walls, double-face bonded baffle, dado joinery, dowel reinforcement, and dual terminal cups for clean amplifier integration.
The volume math is identical methodology to the single M15-S GUS. ResoNix publishes a 0.707 Qtc target of 1.35 cubic feet of net acoustic airspace per GUS-15. Driver displacement is 0.072 cubic feet. Gross chamber volume is 1.35 + 0.072 = 1.422, built at 1.425 cu ft per chamber. After each driver is installed, each chamber delivers 1.353 cubic feet of acoustic airspace. Essentially exactly the 1.35 cu ft target. The total gross enclosure volume is 2.85 cubic feet. The acoustic figure that matters for each driver is 1.35 cu ft per chamber. This is the correct way to build a dual GUS-15 enclosure, exactly double the airspace of the single, hitting ResoNix's exact target on both sides.
The two-terminal-cup approach is the practical differentiator on this build. Every other Micro Series dual enclosure uses a single terminal cup wired internally to both drivers. The M15D-S GUS uses two separate Proline X terminal cups, each pre-wired with 12-gauge OFC to its own driver. There is no internal cross-chamber wiring. This gives the installer complete flexibility in amplifier configuration. The two most common approaches are: each driver gets its own monoblock amplifier (typically 2Ω D4 parallel, 1,200–1,500W RMS per amp), or both drivers run from a single high-output amplifier with external bridging to combine the two terminals. The dual-amplifier approach gives the cleanest channel separation and the most consistent damping at high SPL, for serious SQ and competition builds, this is the configuration to plan for.
The 1-inch wall thickness is a real structural upgrade over the standard Micro Series 3/4" panels. Panel rigidity scales with the cube of thickness. 1-inch panels are roughly 2.4x more rigid than 3/4" panels of the same material. At 3,000W RMS combined across two high-excursion 15" drivers in sealed chambers, this rigidity translates directly to less panel resonance, less acoustic coloration, and longer enclosure service life. The double-face baffle is the same construction philosophy applied to the highest-stress panel in the enclosure. None of this is overbuilt relative to the application. It is correctly scaled to it.
The polyfill installation on this build is intentionally minimal. Each chamber receives a light wall-lining application to dampen internal panel reflections, but the polyfill is not installed at a density that would artificially increase apparent acoustic volume. Each chamber's 1.35 cu ft net acoustic airspace per driver is the actual airspace the driver loads into. ResoNix's T/S parameters are based on this volume, and the polyfill is configured to preserve it. If a customer asks whether they can add more polyfill to extend response, the answer is that ResoNix already calculated the optimum at this volume and adding more material would shift the alignment off target.
For ResoNix's 33mm minimum front clearance. This applies at both driver positions, and at 25.89mm of Xmax it is the operational envelope of the suspension, not optional headroom. Verify both driver positions independently before finalizing the install.
Questions
Does this enclosure include the ResoNix GUS-15 subwoofers?
No. This is an enclosure-only product. Both ResoNix GUS-15 drivers must be purchased separately from ResoNix Sound Solutions. The enclosure ships with two Proline X terminal cups pre-wired to their respective driver positions, 8/32 threaded inserts and stainless machine screws for both drivers, light wall-lining polyfill installed in both chambers, and rubber feet for downfiring installation.
How does the 2.85 cu ft listing relate to what each driver sees acoustically?
2.85 cubic feet is the total gross volume across both chambers. Each chamber is 1.425 cubic feet gross. The GUS-15 has a driver displacement of 0.072 cubic feet, after installation, each driver sees 1.353 cubic feet of net acoustic airspace, hitting ResoNix's 1.35 cubic foot target for 0.707 Qtc precisely. The 2.85 cu ft figure is the total gross enclosure volume. The acoustically meaningful figure for each driver is 1.35 cu ft per chamber.
Why does this enclosure have two terminal cups instead of one?
The M15D-S GUS uses two separate Proline X terminal cups, one per chamber, each independently pre-wired with 12-gauge OFC to its own driver. This is different from the other Micro Series dual builds, which use a single terminal cup wired internally to both drivers. The two-cup approach gives complete flexibility in amplifier configuration: each driver can be powered by its own monoblock for maximum channel separation and damping control, or both terminals can be combined externally with a single amplifier through user-managed bridging. At 3,000 watts RMS combined, separate amplifier paths produce the cleanest signal integrity and the most consistent low-frequency response.
Why are the walls 1" thick instead of 3/4" like the rest of the Micro Series?
At 3,000 watts RMS combined across two GUS-15 drivers operating at 25.89mm of Xmax each, the structural demands on the enclosure are significantly higher than any single-driver build or smaller dual build in the Micro Series. Panel rigidity scales with the cube of thickness. 1-inch panels are roughly 2.4 times more rigid than 3/4" panels of the same material. The thicker walls reduce panel resonance, eliminate acoustic coloration from flex, and extend the enclosure's service life under sustained high-power operation. Combined with the double-face bonded baffle, this construction is correctly scaled to the GUS-15's output capability rather than overbuilt relative to it.123
How is the polyfill installed and will it affect my acoustic volume?
The polyfill is installed as a light wall-lining application in both chambers, enough material to dampen internal panel reflections and reduce internal acoustic coloration, but not enough to artificially increase apparent acoustic volume. Each chamber's 1.35 cubic feet of net acoustic airspace per driver is the actual airspace the driver loads into. ResoNix's T/S parameters are calculated for this volume and the polyfill is configured to preserve it rather than alter it. Adding more polyfill to extend response would shift the alignment off ResoNix's target. This is not recommended.131
How does this compare to the single M15-S GUS enclosure?
The M15D-S GUS is built to exactly double the acoustic volume of the single M15-S GUS. Both enclosures deliver 1.35 cubic feet of net acoustic airspace per GUS-15 driver. The dual build doubles the cone displacement and the combined power handling to 3,000 watts RMS, producing significantly more output across the entire bass range. The construction is structurally upgraded, 1-inch walls instead of 3/4", double-face baffle, and two terminal cups instead of one. The acoustic character of both builds is identical. Flat 0.707 Qtc alignment requiring active DSP for flat in-cabin response. The dual build is for installations where one GUS-15 is not enough output and the installation footprint can accommodate the larger enclosure.139
What amplifier configuration does this system require?
Each GUS-15 is rated at 1,500 watts RMS for a combined system rating of 3,000 watts RMS. The two-terminal-cup design supports multiple amplifier configurations. The cleanest approach is two separate monoblocks, one per terminal cup, for D4 wired parallel per driver, each amp sees a 2Ω load and should deliver 1,200–1,500 watts RMS at 2Ω stable. This gives full channel separation, independent damping control per driver, and the maximum total system power. The alternative is a single high-output amplifier with the two terminals combined externally. This requires careful planning of the final amplifier load and is best suited to amps rated for sustained operation at the resulting impedance. Do not exceed 1,500 watts RMS per driver.147
What is the minimum front clearance required for the GUS-15?
ResoNix specifies a minimum of 33mm of clearance between the GUS-15's surround and any surface in front of the driver. This applies at both driver positions independently. At 25.89mm of Xmax, this clearance is the operational envelope of the suspension, not optional headroom. Verify both driver positions against seat cushion, cargo cover, vehicle floor (in downfire orientation), or any other surface within the cone path before finalizing the installation. Surround contact at full excursion causes mechanical damage that is not covered under warranty.
