Installer's take

The 15" is a dedicated build driver. A 40" wide, 22.75" deep enclosure is not going in a compact car and it is not being repositioned easily once installed. Before ordering, measure your available width at the narrowest point of the trunk opening and your available depth from the rear seat back to the rear of the trunk floor. Both dimensions need to clear. This enclosure does not leave room for improvisation. The 406 oz. magnet assembly on the L7X 15" generates more back-pressure per input watt than any other single driver in the lineup. The triple-layer baffle and extreme internal cross-bracing are the correct specs for this motor, not overbuilt, correctly built. At 1000–2000W RMS sustained input, an inadequately braced 5.0 ft³ enclosure will flex, resonate, and degrade acoustically over time. This one will not. Wiring matters at this power class. The terminal cup accepts 8 AWG. Run 8 AWG or larger from the terminal cup to the amplifier. Do not run 12g wire at the upper end of this power range. Plan your electrical system, alternator output, battery reserve, and wiring gauge from battery to amplifier, before committing to amplifier power at 1000–2000W RMS sustained. This enclosure ships freight. Freight is included in the price. A delivery appointment will be scheduled with the carrier. Someone needs to be present to receive it. Inspect the packaging before signing and photograph any damage before opening the crate. Lead time is 2–4 business days from order.

Questions

How does freight shipping work for this enclosure?

The Pro KIK 15 X ships via freight carrier to the lower 48 states. Freight is included in the price. There is no additional shipping charge at checkout. The freight carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment. Someone needs to be present at delivery to receive and sign for the shipment. Before signing, inspect the packaging for damage and photograph the exterior of the crate or packaging from all sides before opening. If you see visible damage, note it on the delivery receipt before signing. Do not sign a clean receipt for a damaged shipment. Contact us immediately if damage is found.

Why does this enclosure need to be 40" wide?

The L7X 15" requires 5.0 ft³ net internal volume tuned to 30 Hz with 70 square inches of port area. Those acoustic targets cannot be achieved in a significantly narrower enclosure at the 18" height that keeps this build practical for most installs. The 40" width is the result of fitting the required volume and port geometry into an enclosure with usable height and depth dimensions, not an arbitrary choice. Measure your available install width at the narrowest point before ordering. The trunk opening width is often the binding constraint, not the trunk floor width.

Can I use this enclosure with a different 15" subwoofer?

Not recommended. The square baffle cutout is machined specifically to the L7X 15" platform geometry and will not accept a standard round 15" driver. Beyond the physical fitment issue, the internal volume, tuning frequency, and port area are derived from the Solo-X L7X 15" Thiele-Small parameters. Running a different driver in this enclosure will produce results that deviate significantly from that driver's optimal alignment. If you need an enclosure for a different 15" driver, contact us with your driver specs and we will find the correct solution.

What amplifier do I need for this enclosure?

The Solo-X L7X 15" is rated for 1000–2000W RMS. A high-current Class D monoblock stable at 1Ω or 2Ω is the correct amplifier category for this driver and power class. At the upper end of this power range, plan your full electrical system, alternator output, battery reserve, and wiring gauge from battery to amplifier, before selecting your amplifier. A 2000W RMS amplifier drawing sustained current requires electrical support most factory systems cannot provide. Run 8 AWG or larger from the terminal cup to the amplifier. We carry amplifiers from Goldhorn, Prodigy, and other brands suited to this power class. Contact us with your wiring plan and budget for a specific recommendation.

Why does the 15" use extreme cross-bracing when the smaller SKUs use standard internal bracing?

At 5.0 ft³ net, the unsupported panel spans on the side panels, top, and rear of this enclosure are significantly larger than any other single-driver configuration in the X Series. Larger panels have more surface area to resonate under sustained low-frequency pressure. Standard internal bracing controls resonance at smaller panel spans, at this enclosure volume, cross-bracing at the structural level is required to keep those larger surfaces inert at 30 Hz under 1000–2000W RMS sustained input. The upgrade is proportional to the enclosure size and driver output class.

Is this enclosure compatible with both the 1Ω and 2Ω versions of the L7X 15"?

Yes. The enclosure is impedance-neutral. Internal volume, port tuning, and baffle geometry are identical regardless of which impedance configuration you are running. The 1Ω DVC (49L7X151) and 2Ω DVC (49L7X152) share the same physical dimensions and square cone geometry. Impedance selection affects your amplifier wiring configuration and the final load your amplifier sees. Confirm your amplifier is stable at the resulting impedance before selecting your driver configuration.

What does the warranty cover and how do I make a claim?

Every Proline X X Series enclosure carries a 2-year warranty covering manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. This covers structural integrity, joint failure, terminal cup defects, and finish separation under normal use. It does not cover damage from improper installation, overpowering, physical impact, or moisture exposure. Claims are handled directly by Audio Intensity. No third-party process. Contact us by phone, text, or email with your order details and a description of the issue and we will take it from there.

How do I confirm this will fit my vehicle before ordering?

External dimensions are 40" wide × 18" tall × 22.75" deep. Measure both width and depth. Both are binding constraints at this enclosure size. For width, measure at the narrowest point of your trunk opening, not the widest point of the floor, as the enclosure must pass through the opening to be installed. For depth, measure from the rear seat back to the rear of the trunk at floor level. The 18" height fits in most full-size sedan trunks and SUV cargo areas below the window line. At this size and weight, two people are required for positioning and securing the enclosure. Contact us before ordering if you want help confirming fitment for a specific vehicle. This is not a purchase to get wrong on dimensions.
