Some subs are forgiving, the JL Audio W3, the Rockford P2, the Kicker Comp series, they play close to spec across a wide range of enclosure volumes. The W6v3 is not one of those subs. It's a precision driver with a narrow window of ideal enclosure sizing, and if you miss the target by even a few tenths of a cubic foot you can hear the difference.
