Performance in this enclosure
01Is it a sealed driver?

Travel scales with the square root of power, so there is one wattage that puts the cone exactly on 15.5 mm — and a bigger one once a subsonic filter stops it wasting travel below the passband.

Installer's take
I built this box around one driver and one job. The Arc Audio SW12 is a 2.4 inch shallow-mount with the motor hung outside the sealed chamber, which means I am not designing around a magnet eating up my airspace. That is a gift on a shallow build. It lets me keep the chamber clean and give you a true net number instead of a gross figure with the losses buried in the fine print. The 12 needs more air than the 10 to behave, so these boxes run a little deeper. With a Vas of 33.73 liters the SW12 wants real volume to hit its target alignment, and I built the three sizes to land it. The 0.65 is the tight, warm option for when depth is the limit. The 0.8 is Arc's recommended volume and where this driver sounds the most honest to me, deep and controlled without getting loose. The 1.0 is the flattest, deepest of the three when you have the room. Same 26 by 14.75 face on all three, just different depths. Pick the one your space allows and the one your ears want. I designed it to fire down first. Down-fire is where this box wants to live, so I include a 4-foot kit you bolt on when you run it that way. The feet set the gap the cone loads against, couple the bass into the floor, and keep the driver face off the deck. With the SW12 motor sitting outside the box, it ends up breathing free air in that down-fire cavity instead of cooking in a sealed pocket. If your space does not allow a down-fire mount, leave the feet off and run it front-fire. Same box, your call. Construction is the same Micro Series standard I put on everything: stack-fabricated Langboard Elite MDF, dowels between the layers for tension only, three inch radiused corners, polyfill already in, and our own ABS and carbon fiber terminal cup pre-wired with 12 gauge OFC. No CCA, no shortcuts. Order it loaded and I mount the SW12 in the coil you choose, dress the wire, and seal it so you bolt it in and turn it on. - Scott
Questions
What subwoofer does the Proline X Micro Series 12" Sealed Enclosure - Fits Arc Audio SW12 fit?
It is cut specifically for the Arc Audio SW12, a 2.4 inch shallow-mount 12 inch subwoofer. The baffle is bored to the SW12's 11 inch cutout with 8/32 threaded inserts on the back face for machine-screw mounting. It is built for the SW12 and is not a universal 12 inch box.
Which enclosure size should I choose, 0.65, 0.8, or 1.0 cubic feet?
All three sizes share the same 26 by 14.75 inch footprint and only differ in depth. The 0.65 cubic foot Minimum size (26 x 14.75 x 5.25 in) is the lowest profile with a warm, slightly boosted character. The 0.8 cubic foot Optimum size (26 x 14.75 x 6.75 in) is Arc Audio's recommended sealed volume and the most balanced alignment. The 1.0 cubic foot Maximum size (26 x 14.75 x 8.25 in) gives the flattest response and deepest extension. Choose the largest size your depth clearance allows.
Is the listed airspace net or gross volume?
The 0.65, 0.8, and 1.0 cubic foot figures are true net internal airspace. They are calculated by summing each CNC-cut layer's opening after the walls, bracing, and driver are accounted for. The Arc Audio SW12's front-mounted motor sits outside the sealed chamber, so it does not consume internal volume.
Can I order the Proline X Micro Series 12" Sealed Enclosure - Fits Arc Audio SW12 already loaded with the driver?
Yes. You can order it as an empty enclosure or loaded with the Arc Audio SW12 already mounted, wired, and sealed. Loaded builds are available with either the SW12 D2 or SW12 D4 coil configuration, selected by variant. Loaded units ship ready to bolt in and connect.
Should I choose the SW12 D2 or SW12 D4 when ordering loaded?
Choose based on your amplifier. The Arc Audio SW12 D2 wires to 1 ohm or 4 ohm and suits amplifiers that make their rated power into low impedance. The Arc Audio SW12 D4 wires to 2 ohm or 8 ohm and pairs with a wider range of amplifiers. Both coils handle 400 watts RMS and 800 watts peak. If you are unsure, contact us with your amplifier model and we will confirm the right coil.
Is the Proline X Micro Series 12" Sealed Enclosure - Fits Arc Audio SW12 down-firing or front-firing, and what about mounting depth?
It is designed primarily as a down-fire enclosure and works front-fire as a secondary orientation. A 4-foot down-fire kit is included. Install the four feet when you run it down-fire to set the cone-to-floor gap, couple the bass into the chassis, and protect the driver face, then account for the added height of the feet plus the floor gap they create. Leave the feet off when you mount it front-fire. The Arc Audio SW12 has a 2.4 inch mounting depth, or 2.23 inches front-loaded, and the Minimum size box is only 5.25 inches deep externally, which makes this one of the shallowest sealed 12 inch options for behind-seat and under-seat truck installs.
How is the Proline X Micro Series 12" Sealed Enclosure - Fits Arc Audio SW12 built?
It is stack-fabricated on ShopSabre CNC routers from Langboard Elite three-quarter inch MDF, a dense board with a 200 psi internal bond and 410,000 psi MOE. The layers do the joining, dowels add between-layer tension reinforcement, and all four corners are radiused 3 inches. It includes a pre-wired Proline X ABS and carbon-fiber terminal cup with stainless hardware and copper ring terminals, pre-installed polyfill, and a plush black carpet finish.
What warranty and shipping come with the Proline X Micro Series 12" Sealed Enclosure - Fits Arc Audio SW12?
The enclosure carries a 2-year limited warranty and ships free to the lower 48 states. When ordered loaded, the Arc Audio SW12 driver carries Arc Audio's 1-year limited warranty through authorized dealers. Every enclosure is built one at a time in Tullahoma, Tennessee, so allow standard build lead time before shipment.
