Installer's take

The 2.0 ft³ shared air space on this enclosure gives dual 12" drivers a well-proportioned sealed load. The shared chamber with heavy internal bracing keeps the build compact while distributing the air load evenly across both drivers. Both are working the same air mass, which produces a more cohesive low-frequency response than two undersized independent chambers would. The 7" max mounting depth covers most standard 12" drivers. High-excursion competition motors with extended baskets are the exception. Check your driver's published mounting depth before ordering. At 28" wide and 12.5" deep this enclosure fits across most trunk floors and behind most rear seats in full-size trucks and sedans. Single terminal cup handles both drivers internally. Both must be run at the same impedance. Confirm your amplifier output and driver impedances before wiring.

Construction

Dado & V Cut Construction: Strength You Can Trust

Dado & V Cut Construction: Strength You Can Trust

Our dual 12-inch subwoofer box features innovative Dado & V Cut construction. This method creates tight-fitting interlocking joints, enhancing structural strength and stability. Reduced vibrations mean more precise, distortion-free sound, even at high volume levels. Built to endure the rigors of high-powered subwoofers, this construction ensures longevity and consistently premium audio performance.

Superior Assembly with Titebond II Wood Glue

Superior Assembly with Titebond II Wood Glue

Every joint of our sealed subwoofer enclosure receives generous applications of Titebond II wood glue, recognized for superior bonding and moisture resistance. This preassembly process guarantees airtight seals, significantly reducing internal vibrations. The result is cleaner, more accurate bass and an enclosure built to withstand extensive use, maintaining integrity over time.

Rounded Corners for Maximum Durability

Questions

Will this enclosure fit any 12-inch subwoofer?

This enclosure is designed to fit most standard 12-inch subwoofers, ensuring versatility with various brands and models. Always double-check the dimensions of your specific subwoofer to ensure a proper fit, as some subwoofers may have unique mounting requirements. The internal volume is also optimized for dual subwoofer use, providing the ideal environment for balanced performance.

What material is used for the construction of this enclosure?

The enclosure is made from high-quality MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), known for its density and resistance to vibrations. This ensures durability and minimal resonance, providing better sound quality and reducing unwanted noise. The MDF thickness also helps to maintain structural integrity, making it reliable for high-power audio setups.

Does this enclosure come with internal bracing?

Yes, the enclosure features internal bracing to enhance stability and minimize flex during operation. This reduces vibrations, which can distort the sound, and improves overall sound performance, ensuring clear and accurate bass. The bracing is critical when handling higher-power subwoofers, as it helps maintain the rigidity of the enclosure.

Is the Proline-X Performance P12D-S suitable for high-power systems?

This enclosure is designed to handle high-power subwoofers effectively, making it suitable for demanding audio systems. The robust MDF construction and internal bracing ensure it can withstand the stress of high-powered output without compromising sound quality. However, always ensure your amplifier matches the subwoofer power handling to prevent damage and achieve optimal performance.

Does the enclosure require any modifications to fit in a car trunk?

The enclosure is designed to fit most standard car trunks without requiring modifications, making it convenient for most users. However, measuring your vehicle space beforehand is always recommended to ensure compatibility. The dimensions are 28" x 12.5" x 14", which should fit comfortably in many vehicle models.

How much airspace does each subwoofer chamber have?

Each subwoofer chamber has approximately 1.0 cubic feet of net airspace, ideal for most 12-inch subwoofers. This airspace allows the subwoofers to deliver tight and accurate bass without distortion. Proper airspace is crucial for the performance of sealed enclosures, as it directly affects the sound quality and responsiveness of the subwoofers.

Does this enclosure improve sound quality over a ported one?

This sealed enclosure provides a tighter, more controlled bass response than ported enclosures, which often emphasize loudness. It is ideal for users who prefer precision and accuracy, as sealed designs produce a cleaner and more balanced sound. This makes it an excellent choice for those who want detailed bass without excessive boominess.

What is the benefit of the laser-cut acrylic badge?

The laser-cut acrylic badge adds a premium touch to the enclosure's overall design, enhancing its visual appeal. It provides a polished and professional look, making the enclosure visually attractive in any setup. This aesthetic detail helps differentiate it from more generic options, giving it a distinctive and high-quality appearance.
