Installer's take
The 11.5" max mounting depth is the spec that matters most on this enclosure. Most dual 8" sealed boxes on the market are built around shallower drivers. You run into fitment issues the moment you step up to a higher-excursion motor. The P8D-S is dimensioned to handle the deeper drivers without modification. Two independent terminal cups also simplify the wiring job: each driver gets its own connection point, so you are not sharing a single cup between two drivers and dealing with internal splices you did not make yourself. At 19" wide and 13" deep, this fits behind most rear seats and under most truck bench seats without requiring custom mounting. The 0.40 ft³ per chamber puts you in the middle of the recommended sealed range for most 8" drivers, not undersized, not oversized. If you are pairing this with a mono block and running both drivers at the same impedance, the independent terminal cups make parallel or series wiring clean and straightforward.
Questions
What is the net internal volume per driver bay?
Each driver bay is 0.40 ft³ net. Total enclosure volume is 0.80 ft³. Both chambers are equal and fully separated internally.
Will this enclosure fit a high-excursion competition 8" driver?
The P8D-S accommodates drivers with a mounting depth up to 11.5" and a cutout diameter of 7.25". That covers the majority of 8" drivers including high-excursion competition models. Check your driver's published mounting depth against 11.5" before ordering.
Does each driver have its own terminal cup?
Yes. The P8D-S uses two independent terminal cups, one per driver bay. Each cup is an ABS/Carbon Fiber Composite recessed unit with stainless steel hardware and copper ring terminals. Each driver is wired independently, which allows you to run separate impedance loads or wire to a bridged amplifier channel per side.
Why sealed instead of ported for a dual 8" build?
Sealed alignment prioritizes transient accuracy and a flat, controlled response curve over output efficiency. For installs where the 8" drivers are handling front stage support, mid-bass reinforcement, or compact rear fill, rather than high-output low-extension bass, sealed is the correct alignment. If you need maximum output and extended low-frequency response from dual 8" drivers, the P8D-P ported version is the better fit.

What MDF is used in this enclosure?
All Proline X Performance Series enclosures are built from Langboard Elite MDF, 3/4" (18mm) panels with a published density of 48.5 lbs/ft³, 200 psi internal bond, and 410,000 psi modulus of elasticity. Full mill data is available in the Materials tab.
Is this the V3 version?
Yes. V3 adds V-groove and dado joinery, increased internal bracing, the in-house ABS/Carbon Fiber Composite terminal cup, and pre-wired 12g OFC speaker wire. V2 units are sold as closeout stock while inventory lasts and will redirect to this listing once exhausted.
