This enclosure holds 0.60 cu ft net per chamber. In it the Arc Audio SW10D2 runs a system Qtc of 0.83–0.85 with half power at 44.9–45.6 Hz, and the cone reaches its 14.7 mm travel limit at 691 W, above the driver’s 350 W thermal rating, so heat stops you before travel does. Run a subsonic filter at 25 Hz and that becomes 752 W — +62 W, or 9 percent more power for the same 14.7 mm of travel.

At 53.0–54.4 the SW10D2 sits in the transition band, not the sealed band. That is not a mismatch: a transition motor works in either alignment, and sealed buys a smaller box and a gentler roll-off at the cost of some low-end output. Stage 02 shows what this airspace actually does with it.

The box lifts resonance from 39.3 Hz free-air to 52–52 Hz and half power lands at 44.9–45.6 Hz, anechoic, before any cabin gain. This enclosure ships without a driver, so both coil variants the maker offers are plotted. They do not load the same box the same way.

03The watts that reach Xmax (in this enclosure)

Travel scales with the square root of power, so there is one wattage that puts the cone exactly on 14.7 mm — and a bigger one once a subsonic filter stops it wasting travel below the passband.

Every trace touches the limit and no further, because each is drawn at the exact power that puts that coil on 14.7 mm. Unfiltered that is 691 W, reached first at 29 Hz. It sits above the 350 W the driver can take thermally, so the voice coil gives up before the suspension does. The dashed traces are the same driver behind a subsonic filter at 25 Hz, 24 dB/oct: stopping the cone wasting travel below the passband lets it take 752 W before hitting the same 14.7 mm. That is 9 percent more amplifier for the price of one filter setting.

Installer's take

I built this box around one driver and one job. The Arc Audio SW10 is a 2.4 inch shallow-mount with the motor hung outside the sealed chamber, which means I am not designing around a magnet eating up my airspace. That is a gift on a shallow build. It lets me keep the chamber clean and give you a true net number instead of a gross figure with the losses buried in the fine print. I designed it to fire down first. Down-fire is where this box wants to live, so I include a 4-foot kit you bolt on when you run it that way. The feet set the gap the cone loads against, couple the bass into the floor, and keep the driver face off the deck. With the SW10 motor sitting outside the box, it ends up breathing free air in that down-fire cavity instead of cooking in a sealed pocket. If your space does not allow a down-fire mount, leave the feet off and run it front-fire. Same box, your call. I offer it in three sizes on the same 26 by 14 footprint because not every truck cab or hatch floor gives you the same depth. The 0.4 is for when 4.5 inches is all you have got and you still want clean, warm bass. The 0.6 is where Arc wants this driver and where it sounds the most honest to me, tight and controlled with enough weight to matter. The 0.9 is for the guy who has the room and wants the flattest curve and the deepest reach. Same face, same install, different character. Pick the one your space allows and the one your ears want. Construction is the same Micro Series standard I put on everything: stack-fabricated Langboard Elite MDF, dowels between the layers for tension only, three inch radiused corners, polyfill already in, and our own ABS and carbon fiber terminal cup pre-wired with 12 gauge OFC. No CCA, no shortcuts. If you order it loaded I mount the SW10 in the coil you choose, dress the wire, and seal it so you bolt it in and turn it on. That is the whole point. It is cut specifically for the Arc Audio SW10, a 2.4 inch shallow-mount 10 inch subwoofer. The baffle is bored to the SW10's 9.1 inch cutout with 8/32 threaded inserts on the back face for machine-screw mounting. It is built for the SW10 and is not a universal 10 inch box.

Which enclosure size should I choose, 0.4, 0.6, or 0.9 cubic feet?

All three sizes share the same 26 by 14 inch footprint and only differ in depth. The 0.4 cubic foot Minimum size (26 x 14 x 4.5 in) is the lowest profile with a warm, slightly boosted character. The 0.6 cubic foot Optimum size (26 x 14 x 6 in) is Arc Audio's recommended sealed volume and the most balanced alignment. The 0.9 cubic foot Maximum size (26 x 14 x 7.5 in) gives the flattest response and deepest extension. Choose the largest size your depth clearance allows.

Is the listed airspace net or gross volume?

The 0.4, 0.6, and 0.9 cubic foot figures are true net internal airspace. They are calculated by summing each CNC-cut layer's opening after the walls, bracing, and driver are accounted for. The Arc Audio SW10's front-mounted motor sits outside the sealed chamber, so it does not consume internal volume.

Can I order the Proline X Micro Series 10" Sealed Enclosure - Fits Arc Audio SW10 already loaded with the driver?

Yes. You can order it as an empty enclosure or loaded with the Arc Audio SW10 already mounted, wired, and sealed. Loaded builds are available with either the SW10 D2 or SW10 D4 coil configuration, selected by variant. Loaded units ship ready to bolt in and connect.

Should I choose the SW10 D2 or SW10 D4 when ordering loaded?

Choose based on your amplifier. The Arc Audio SW10 D2 wires to 1 ohm or 4 ohm and suits amplifiers that make their rated power into low impedance. The Arc Audio SW10 D4 wires to 2 ohm or 8 ohm and pairs with a wider range of amplifiers. Both coils handle 350 watts RMS and 700 watts peak.
