Installer's take
The dual GUS-10 is the logical step up from the single when more output is the goal and the installation footprint can accommodate a 34" wide, 8.25" deep enclosure. Everything about the single GUS-10 build carries forward: same driver, same enclosure volume target per chamber, same 0.707 Qtc alignment, same acoustic character, doubled.
The volume math on this build is identical to the single GUS-10 enclosure. Both are built to 0.63 cu ft gross per driver position, after the GUS-10's 0.031 cu ft driver displacement, each driver sees 0.599 cu ft of net acoustic airspace. That is effectively exactly at ResoNix's 0.707 Qtc target of 0.60 cu ft. Both chambers are built to the same volume, both drivers load into identical acoustic conditions.
The acoustic character is the same as the single build. Qts of 0.35 and Fs of 16.91 Hz on both drivers produce a 0.707 Qtc alignment: flat anechoic response with deep extension. The dual build produces more output but does not produce a warmer or more forgiving character. If someone wants the dual GUS-10 because they think two drivers will sound fuller in the upper bass, they are thinking of a different driver category. The GUS-10's character is precise and flat, and more GUS-10 is more of that precision. This is an SQ-oriented driver, not a warm daily-driver alternative.
Wiring is the key pre-order decision. The GUS-10 is dual voice coil, D2 or D4, so each driver's two coils must be wired before the two drivers are combined. The recommended configuration is two D2 drivers, each wired series (producing 4Ω per driver), then both drivers wired in parallel at the terminal cup (producing 2Ω final). This is the broadest amplifier compatibility option at a manageable load. Target a monoblock delivering 800–1,000 watts RMS at 2Ω. D2 T/S parameters are not yet finalized by ResoNix. The volume calculation is based on D4 data. If the D2 variant produces materially different T/S parameters at finalization, confirm the volume target still holds.
The 23mm minimum front clearance applies at both driver positions. In a 34-inch wide enclosure placed horizontally behind a seat or in a cargo floor, confirm 23mm of clearance from both drivers to whatever surface is in front of them. The outer drivers on a wide enclosure are often the ones closest to a structural constraint.
Questions
Does this enclosure include the ResoNix GUS-10 subwoofers?
No. This is an enclosure-only product. Both ResoNix GUS-10 drivers must be purchased separately from ResoNix Sound Solutions. The enclosure ships with the Proline X terminal cup pre-wired to both driver positions, 8/32 threaded inserts and stainless machine screws for both drivers, polyfill pre-installed in both chambers independently, and rubber feet for downfiring installation.
How does the 1.26 cu ft listing relate to what each driver sees acoustically?
1.26 cubic feet is the total gross volume across both chambers combined. Each chamber is 0.63 cubic feet gross. The GUS-10 has a driver displacement of 0.031 cubic feet, after installation, each driver sees 0.599 cubic feet of net acoustic airspace. ResoNix's 0.707 Qtc target for the GUS-10 is 0.60 cubic feet. This enclosure hits that target to within rounding on both sides. The 1.26 cu ft figure is the total enclosure volume, the acoustically meaningful figure is approximately 0.60 cu ft per driver.
How does this compare to the single GUS-10 enclosure?
Both builds use the same GUS-10 driver at the same acoustic volume target per driver. The dual build delivers double the cone displacement and double the combined power handling, 1,000 watts RMS vs 500 watts RMS. Output increases significantly across all bass frequencies, particularly below 30 Hz. The acoustic character is identical. Flat 0.707 Qtc alignment requiring active DSP for flat in-cabin response. The dual build is also the cleaner acoustic alignment of the two, with each chamber hitting 0.599 cu ft net versus the single's 0.603 cu ft, which sits fractionally below target. If your installation space and budget support the dual build and you need more output, the M10D-S GUS is the correct choice.
What is the correct way to wire two GUS-10 drivers in this enclosure?
The GUS-10 is a dual voice coil driver, so each driver has two voice coils that must be wired before the two drivers are combined at the terminal cup. The recommended configuration for most builds is two D2 drivers, each wired series (producing 4Ω per driver), then both drivers wired in parallel (producing 2Ω final). This gives broadest amplifier compatibility at a manageable load. Two D4 drivers wired parallel per driver (2Ω each), then in series (4Ω final) is the safest electrical configuration. Confirm your amplifier's minimum stable impedance and select the voice coil variant accordingly before ordering.
How does the dual GUS-10 system sound in a vehicle cabin?
Both GUS-10 drivers at 0.707 Qtc produce a flat anechoic response with deep low-frequency extension. In a real vehicle cabin, boundary gain below 80 Hz reinforces the drivers' deep extension in the listening position. Running two GUS-10s in the common chamber doubles the cone displacement, producing roughly 3 dB more low-frequency output than a single GUS-10 at equivalent power. The acoustic character is the same as the single build: precise, flat, and extended. Two drivers produce more output while preserving the SQ-oriented character the GUS-10 was designed for.
What amplifier does this system require?
Each GUS-10 is rated at 500 watts RMS for a combined rating of 1,000 watts RMS. Target a monoblock delivering 800–1,000 watts RMS at your final load impedance. For the recommended 2Ω configuration (two D2 drivers, each series, then parallel), a monoblock stable at 2Ω delivering 800–1,000 watts RMS is the correct pairing. Do not significantly exceed 500 watts RMS per driver, the GUS-10's thermal ratings are honest and overpower damage is not covered under warranty.
Why does this enclosure have only one terminal cup for two drivers?
A single Proline X terminal cup serves both chambers through internal wiring routed to each driver position independently. Connect one amplifier run to the terminal cup and both drivers receive signal. No external splicing, Y-connectors, or separate amplifier channels are required. The final impedance at the terminal cup is determined by how the four voice coils across both drivers are wired internally.
What is the minimum front clearance required for the GUS-10?
ResoNix specifies a minimum of 23mm of clearance between the top of the GUS-10's surround and whatever surface is in front of the driver. Confirm this at both driver positions before finalizing your install. In a 34-inch wide enclosure the outer driver positions can sit closer to structural constraints than the center. Measure both positions independently.
